alright... you're last few comments about this were legit, but i have to disagree on this one. for one, i kicked it up a bit from where i first had it to preempt this comment... well, that didn't work.

you can't tell much from a test board, but too-high contrast stuff looks terrible on long forum indexes. the eye needs to be told where to look, which is especially true on forums, when navigating. if the eye can't differentiate between forum title and forum .desc easily, users will begin to get tired of it. not only is the forum title overly large on the default theme (and on this one) to avoid this, but the descriptions on this skin are easily readable IMO. i even checked on a lower quality monitor on this one.

also, think about the uses of the submenu and descriptions. many users don't use the submenu that often. ocassionally new members will use it for help or to read the TOS, and then will never click on it again. the forum descriptions are similar. in the rare case that you wouldn't be able to understand a forum's purpose by the title, you will only need to read the description once, maybe twice to remember. then you will never look at it again, in most cases.

for these reasons, i treat the submenu and descriptions as necessary evils, and use them to keep the skin flowing and navigate-able. a dark gray forum title and a lighter gray description are aesthetically appealing, and i think despite your view, perfectly functional together.
