H E L L O.

So, I haven't been here in a long long time. It's probably been a year? Who knows. And who knows why, but I thought of this site before I fell asleep and I had to write this. It'd be nice if any of you guys from the "old times" were still here/remember me. I'm sure some of you staff peoples are 'similar' faces although I never really knew the staff all-that-well. (BTW if I do know you, and you know I know you, and you've changed your name, would you mind telling me your old name so I can remember?lol)

I'm reminiscing right now. For those of you who remember the past, I haven't made a signature since I stopped coming here.

It wasn't much of a losing of the inspiration to make signatures, but more of losing the inspiration for computer graphical art completely.
It made art too readily of a talent for anyone to have. I'd like to see 99% of the so-called "PRO" people pick up a brush and paint. tsk tsk

Regardless, I suppose that's all irrelevant, and especially irrelevant to this section, however it's the nicest section, which is why I've placed it here.

Let's put in some feedback I spose... It's not like the old days, that's for sure. I actually miss those times, which is odd to say: "I miss the old days on the forum" but it's true! I remember having over 100 members online easily at any time of day. And I remember people posting all day and night just to be the number one poster; sure it could be considered "spam" but no one was hurt and everyone had fun and Most Importantly, the forum had Life.

I think it's possible all of the "strapping down" of things got to people eventually. I mean REALLY, now we can't even see the post count?

Not that I care anyway, I'm just mentioning the fact.

I think "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes into play. IFSZ wasn't broke, yet all of this idiotic ZB stuff came into play and new rules and organization and it all just collapsed. Some things are better simple, and that can be seen in art.

Who knows if my point is clear to anyone but me, but then again does it matter? If you read this far, thanks, if not then you'll never read this: "**** you" haha.

Much Love,
Jason

'Idiotic ZB stuff'? How rude.

I'm sorry to say this but I think you're taking an extremely ignorant approach. First, you say 'it's probably been a year', then if you knew what ZB was like you wouldn't refer to it as idiotic. Then attempting to provide 'feedback' which isn't truely feedback at all and finishing it up with some rudeness makes this an extremely useless topic. You didn't provide feedback, you've merely provided a rather inaccurate view of what you remember the forum being. We can all look to some point in the past and think 'Oh, those were the days'. 2005 for me, personally. But no forum is perfect, and this definitely wasn't. People still attacked eachother for absolutely no reason

I can see that you have 4,583 posts from this topic. Steve actually contacted me last night to put the post count back (how is that for timing? Especially since this topic was posted 12 hours after I did it :P ) It was removed because the memberbase here put too much stock in people's post counts. Maybe that's changed, who knows? I wouldn't know, I don't pop in much.

Also, there is a vast difference between graphic art and actual painting. Someone can be skilled at graphic art and not be skilled with a real paintbrush - doesn't mean they are any less of an artist. Art comes in all forms.

But I'm suuure this very random topic with no feedback, some rudeness, a truck load of ignorant statements and an ironic greeting is going to change this forum from no on. Everyone here will have you to thank :)
Oh yes, I am still very much a huge fan of sarcasm.

Well, things change. You would be on the right track if the TZ's "environment" stayed constant throughout time, but the fact is, the network itself has seen some fundamental changes recently and that makes it necessary for the board to adapt. Regardless of the perceived successes of the past -- Nicola covered that subject thoroughly -- bringing fresh ideas to the table is a far better course of action than allowing things to become stagnant.

If you're looking for the "old days," you will forever be dissatisfied. Not just on this site, but in every part of life. People and communities are constantly reshaping themselves as time passes, even if you don't notice it. I'm sure that within the time frame of your past activity, a lot of progression happened. You just don't look at those changes the same way as the current changes because you saw them unfold gradually and naturally.

The key is being able to find a love for the foundation of the community and its most fundamental goals, because those are things that don't really ever waver. If you can do that, the changes to all the other parts will be more palatable, even if you really loved the year 200-whatever and haven't been around since then.

I remember you, though you probably don't remember me. :P

I'm not going to get too much into this. All I know is I completely lost all interest in the whole posting on forums business. Not entirely sure what brought it on. I'd sometimes make an effort to post more, find myself half way through a sentence and just stop myself and move on. :\

Nowadays I'll sign in once every few months to bother Phil. :glare:

How could I forget you? You were one of the loves of my life... (Not gay ..)
............. + the fact I speak to you on msn and facebook more than .. pretty much anyone at this site.. but that's beside the point.
Anyways, Nolva speaks the truth, I also start to write a post... Look at it.. delete it.. then carry on..
Seems that alot of people have left since the zb change.. Tbh, I wonder why that is.. Cant be that suddenly all the active old guys would just leave at the same time..

Anyways.. it's late.. 5 ****ing am. =_=
So... MUCH LOVE JASON.
Love Ollie.
