I was wondering when my warn level will be decreased? I edited and posted someone else's skin in the showcase with notifying the creator that I was doing so. Thanks to that I got 2 consecutive warn raises. That was on Jun 26 2007, 11:53 PM + Kylie did the nice job. When is it gonna get lowered? It's been 2 years!! |

In the past two years you've made just a mere 244 posts. Hardly someone who has been active + done something for them to lower it. Be a little more active around the board and get involved more. I'm sure they'll lower it soon enough.

That just means he's way more dedicated than you, that's all... Probably showing a bit of community involvement within the forum will make your warn decrease or if anything else, just do good ^^ |

Contributing to the forum is the best way to go about decreasing a warn level. Keep in mind that lowering a warn level is at the discretion of staff.

How many post do you need to constitute a warn decrease? *Looks at his 1-2 year old warn* |

Well, like I said just above your post, "Your warn level will be decreased when you earn the decrease." You can have 15k posts but if you haven't clearly shown good behavior, the warn is going to stay for as long as it needs to. |

We're not in the habit of lowering warn levels because of time. If you want the warn level decreasing, then unfortunately, the only way you can do that is by making a solid effort around the board.

it's a catch 22 of sorts really. you get it lowered through positive input on the board, but it most likely won't actually get lowered unless you pointed it out... at which point you're just told you have to get it lowered through positive input on the board. if it's not going up, you've got nothing to worry about. most of the staff are just kids really, they don't have the time to go through every single account with a warn and judge if the warn should be removed on a frequent basis. i doubt anyone really has that time. |

The idea is that warns are fairly serious and nearly permanent things; getting them removed is very rare because, as you said, no one has the ability to go through every account on a regular basis. And also because removing a warn is a bigger deal than most people make it out to be. Getting it removed is a very large accomplishment. You have to actually stand out to receive one. (And rightfully so.) It's not going to be a quick process in most cases, but if you honestly become a positive, involved member over a good period of time, it's going to happen naturally. By the way, just to put things in perspective, many communities don't remove warns at all. ![]() |

I beg to differ. Back in the old old days Spotlight and the SZ were new forums, and as such had mediocre moderating until it grew in size. IMHO

I like the idea of warns having an expiration date. After all, it works wonders in our justice system (USA -- not being sarcastic). :p Honestly though, I think I'm going to have to agree with the staff. If you don't do anything to get your warn level increased, you have nothing to worry about. If you want a lower warn level, then you obviously want to be a part of this community.. so getting a good amount of posts (enough to stand out) shouldn't be that hard. Then again, it took me years to 1,000 posts on iFusion, which I visited almost 24/7 (and I wouldn't say that made me stand out much). Hopefully you don't have to get that much to prove you're a positive, involved member. |

I'm sure they'll lower it soon enough.

Thanks.
