Removal of 'Plug Your Board' The forum 'Plug Your Board' has been removed permanently. It will not be returning. Since this board is now operating under an official capacity, we'd prefer that users utilize the Board Directory to advertise their board to the public. A list of reasons why we feel this is a better alternative: Boards could only be advertised once every 6 months. Adding your board to the official directory isn't something you can do every 6 months, and it can be categorized better than we can achieve on this board, allowing people to locate boards of a particular genre much faster. Moderation of this forum has always been tough, therefore removal of this forum will free up the moderators to better serve the community. Members can still use their signatures and blogs to advertise their board(s), which can appear many times in many topics, and isn't limited to only once every 6 months. Users with new boards can read an article written by OcelotJay which includes information on adding your board to search engines. It can be found here. Removal of Premium Ads As you may have noticed, the premium ads that used to feature on this board's footer have been removed. The revenue from these ads has always gone into prizes for competitions, however since this board is now official, prizes are going to be of an official nature from now on. This includes prizes of ZB Premium for certain lengths of time, Ad Removal and possibly more in the future This board will however, still continue to award advertisement opportunities as part of official competition prizes in the future.

If you want to harp on about the 'old days' so can I, and that is also a reason why I'm assisting with this. That forum always was a moderating nightmare, and an inefficient way to advertise one's board. You post one topic every 6 months, and depending on the board's daily activity that topic got buried usually with hours or a couple of days, with bumping prohibited and resulting in the deletion of your thread. Then of course, who actually comes here to look through what was a very basic categorising system (which was relatively new, it just used to be one single forum) to look for a board? Barely anyone. Any posts were usually those of 'nice looking forum' or 'crap skin, get a new one'. The constantly updated, global board directory is ultimately a better way to get new members. It has many categories and many sub-categories, and best of all: Unlike IF's old directory, people can't cheat. There is no 'government' and this forum is definitely no 'puppet'. A couple of us used to be staff/Admin here, and nothing is done without the approval of the current staff here, including Locke who has been here longer than anyone. You're suggesting these changes are made completely against the will of those who manage this board, and that this board is losing what it used to be. Face facts: The board nearly lost everything it used to be. You cannot constantly keep looking at the past just because you registered here several years ago, things change. Things sometimes have to change. There are more changes coming, so you can either stomach it and trust everyone who have also been trusted with the management of this board over the years anyway, or you can leave. Posting about how we're taking over and turning the board into the puppet is narrow minded and unnecessary. Read between the lines and you'll see that trying to preserve this place is exactly one of the things we're trying to do.

At least with them, they actually give it a chance that it wouldn't have if it went along as it was before ZN got involved and made it official. I do agree that the plug your board forum here was rather useless and just a waste of space so I don't mind it going. Besides ZB has a working directory and it's rather pointless to have a working directory and a plug your board forum when this forum is as official as ZN support.

Those have probably long since expired. Actually the first time I won it was 6 months worth. I used 3 months of that up. I was told it lasted forever. Then the second time, I can't remember how many months it was, but it wasn't too long ago (ZBTZ Board Awards).
